What is a Dental Hygienist
Dental Hygienists are self-regulated health care professionals that help
prevent gum disease by assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating
individual oral hygiene treatments.
They can make an important contribution to your overall health. Bacterial
from oral infections can increase your risk of stroke, heart and
respiratory diseases, and pregnancy disorders.
As members of the oral health team, dental hygienists have a distinctive
clinical and educational role to play.
